FilmPilot.ai, operated by VersusMedia LLC, provides screenplay development and AI-assisted film pre-production services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, when it is shared, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use FilmPilot.ai, we may collect:

  • Account information: Name, email address, password credentials, profile details, and authentication information. If you use an optional third-party sign-in method, we receive the account information made available through that authorization flow; we do not receive your third-party password.
  • Order and project information: Project title, filming and audience locations, project preferences, order status, package selected, messages, and other details you provide to request a service.
  • Creative content: Screenplays, scripts, story ideas, prompts, character descriptions, uploaded files, and generated deliverables submitted or created through the service. Your project may contain personal information or information about other people, so only submit material you are authorized to provide.
  • Payment and transaction information: Checkout and payment-event identifiers, package and order details, and transaction status. Our payment processor handles payment card information; FilmPilot.ai does not store your full card number.
  • Communications: Support requests, contact-form content, newsletter or other subscription preferences, and transactional email metadata.
  • Technical and usage information: IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, referring URL, access times, requests, errors, security events, and similar operational data collected through application logs, visitor logs, cookies, pixels, and analytics tools.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Create and secure accounts, authenticate users, and provide customer support.
  • Process orders, payments, deliverables, account deletion requests, and service communications.
  • Process screenplays, story ideas, prompts, and related project data to provide the features you request, including script analysis, visual development, budgeting, scheduling, audience research, and other pre-production services.
  • Provide requested research and pre-production services using feature-specific project requirements and, where applicable, publicly available information.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the website, workflows, and service quality.
  • Send transactional, support, and, where permitted, marketing communications consistent with your preferences.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and violations of our Terms.
  • Comply with legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

3. AI Processing and Your Creative Content

FilmPilot.ai sends feature-specific project context to AI and infrastructure providers as needed to perform the service you request. The exact information sent depends on the feature. For example, a screenplay may be processed to generate script criticism, audience feedback, images, storyboards, schedules, budgets, or other deliverables.

Our policy is that we do not use your screenplays or other creative work to train foundation AI models without your explicit consent. We do not sell your creative work. AI-assisted outputs are generated for your requested workflow and should be reviewed by you for accuracy, rights, safety, and suitability.

Some features may use publicly available information to provide the requested result. We do not submit your screenplay as a public search query or publish it through that research process.

4. Service Providers and Information Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share information with service providers only as reasonably necessary to operate the service, provide a requested feature, process a transaction, communicate with you, protect the service, or comply with law. Current provider categories include:

  • Cloud hosting and file storage: Host the application, database, uploaded files, and generated deliverables.
  • AI and media-processing providers: Process feature-specific prompts, text, images, and other context needed to generate requested outputs. The providers and models can vary by feature and may change as the service develops.
  • Payment processors: Process checkout, payment, refund, and payment-event information.
  • Email and communications providers: Deliver transactional, support, and other authorized email.
  • Research providers: Support features that use publicly available information, public profile information, or public image information. We do not send your screenplay as a public search query.
  • Authentication providers: Support optional sign-in methods when you choose to use them.
  • Security and anti-abuse providers: Help protect account, checkout, and form workflows from automated abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.
  • Analytics, advertising, and support providers: Receive technical, usage, device, or interaction information according to their own policies and the site configuration.

We do not publish a complete vendor or model inventory in this policy because providers and implementation details may change. We disclose the relevant processing categories and purposes here and update this policy when those categories materially change.

We may also disclose information if required by law, in response to valid legal process, to protect users or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of all or part of the business.

5. Data Storage, Security, and International Processing

We use HTTPS/TLS, authenticated access controls, managed cloud infrastructure, and access credentials kept outside the source code. No internet service is completely secure. Service providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to their terms, safeguards, and applicable law.

Access to project content is limited to what is reasonably needed to operate the service, provide support, investigate an issue, protect the service, or comply with law. We do not promise that no authorized operator or service provider can ever access data.

6. Retention and Deletion

We retain account, order, transaction, and communication information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain business and legal records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with law.

Uploaded screenplay files are retained for the processing and delivery workflow and are removed from active processing storage when the workflow permits. Completed deliverables are generally available for a limited download period and may be deleted afterward; the applicable workflow or order information controls. Backups, security logs, tax records, fraud-prevention records, and legally required records may remain for longer periods.

You may request account deletion through the account deletion page. Deletion requests are subject to verification and lawful retention requirements. Deleting an account may not remove information that must be retained by law or that has been irreversibly aggregated.

7. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions, support authentication, remember preferences, protect forms, measure site usage, provide support, and understand marketing activity. Analytics, advertising, and support technologies may set or read cookies or receive technical and interaction information according to the site configuration and their own policies.

You can control some cookies through your browser settings and may be able to use controls provided by the relevant third parties. Blocking necessary cookies can affect login, checkout, forms, or other functionality.

8. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also opt out of non-essential marketing communications using the unsubscribe mechanism in the message or by contacting us.

To submit a privacy request, use our Contact page or the account deletion page. We may need to verify your identity and may ask for additional information to protect accounts and other people’s privacy. You may have a right to appeal a decision or complain to a data-protection authority under local law.

9. Third-Party Links

Our site may contain links to third-party websites and public professional profiles. We do not control those sites or their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information. Public information displayed or referenced by FilmPilot.ai remains subject to the source platform’s terms and privacy practices.

10. Children’s Privacy

FilmPilot.ai is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect account information from children under 13. A screenplay or casting research request may describe a fictional minor character or may reference a public professional performer; that does not mean FilmPilot.ai is soliciting an account from a child. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, providers, processing practices, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice through the service or by email where appropriate.
